Proposition 19

In the most recent elections, mostly everyone has heard of Prop. 19. Proposition 19 was introduced in California and presented the state with the chance to legalize the use of marijuana for recreational use. The Proposition only won in 11 out of 58 counties, and ultimately it was shot down.

First lets see why marijuana is illegal? Marijuana is illegal because... because it's bad, and it's bad because the government said so. No. It was banned because of racism in the 1930's and due to ignorant and incompetent legislators.

I'm sure everyone knows that alcohol is worse than marijuana. Marijuana has no right being illegal. I'm not saying it doesn't hinder people or anything, if it was legalized I'm sure companies would sprout up and add chemicals making it just like cigarettes.

Making marijuana legal would bring extra tax revenue and save money tons of government money on the "war on drugs", think about it, how much money has our government wasted on fighting the war on drugs, which centers around marijuana.

I'm just saying that I'm very disappointed in California and America for being extremely hypocritical.

  2. Shouldn't prop 19 just be legal in specific states. why do all the states need to vote on it for a majority : /!

  4. Mexican cartels don't only distribute drugs to California. Marijuana is decriminalized which means if you get caught with a personal amount you won't get arrested, but if you get caught with an amount over an ounce you'd just get fined.

All drugs need to be legal so the war on drugs could end.

It's not the governments responsibility to tell it's citizens what to consume.

    THINK ABOUT THIS.

No more profit for Mexican Cartels= Mexican Cartels getting mad and killing more people.

What makes you think they don't have the fire power to slaughter people. They're already doing it in Mexico just takes a few guns to kill a bunch of people.

And the whole taxing thing, how would that benefit us? We don't even really know where our tax's go. How come my street still has pot holes, if there's a sales tax on mostly all my product.

    :/

  7. It was banned in the 30s due to the belief that the wood from hemp plants were going to replace the lumber industry. So the monopoly leader (i currently cannot remember his name) decided to throw money at the government to make it illegal. It was also in a time where everyone was an idiot and nobody knew what to do.

  11. I agree, illegalizing marijuana is just stupid, I hate how the media has ingrained ethics/morals in us that some people are too conservative to wake up.
